Lesson Introduction
Certificates are a great addition to your LinkedIn profile. They feature straight after your Experience Section and join up very nicely with your Skills Section.
When adding a Licence or Certification you are prompted to associate it with 1 or more Skills.
You can also add media with each Certificate you add.
How to add Certificates to your LinkedIn
- Click Add section
- Click Recommended
- Click Licences & Certifications
Complete the certificate form
Completing the form is straight forward.
Some Notes:
- When entering the Issuing Organisation you can tag a LinkedIn Company Page. This will show their icon/logo in your Certificates Section
- Not every certificate has an Expiry Date. Leave it blank and it wil state “No expiry”
- Credential ID in not mandatory.
- Credential URL lets you add a link to a hosted certificate. It is not mandatory. If you do include a URL it will add a link called “Show credential”
- Add Skill will show the certificate in your Skills Section
- Add Media let’s you enhance the listing.
Uploading Media
The following file formats are supported:
- Adobe PDF (.pdf)
- Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt/.pptx)
- Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx)
- .jpg/.jpeg
- .png
- .gif – this doesn’t support animation, however the first frame will be extracted
