Understand LinkedIn® Company Page Follower Analytics

Use LinkedIn® Company Page follower analytics to judge whether your audience is growing in the right direction, not simply whether the follower count increased.

LinkedIn® Company Page Management - Understand Follower Analytics

Follower analytics help answer a more useful question than “How many followers do we have?” They help you examine who the Page is attracting and whether that audience matches the people you intended to reach.

Track growth over time

Follower totals and new-follower trends can show whether the Page is expanding its audience, but growth should be interpreted alongside changes in publishing, campaigns, invitations and external promotion.

Examine audience composition

LinkedIn® currently provides follower demographic views including location, seniority, job function, industry and company size. Use them to compare the audience with the priority groups you defined earlier in this course, remembering that available reporting can change.

LinkedIn Premium Notes

If you use Premium audience-growth features, look beyond the number of followers they generate. Check whether those new followers improve the audience composition you are trying to build.

Look for meaningful shifts

A sudden increase in followers may be useful, irrelevant or somewhere between. Investigate what caused it and whether the new audience strengthens the Page’s strategic fit.

Connect follower data to content

If a particular content series attracts relevant new followers, that is evidence about audience demand and future editorial direction. If follower growth is occurring while the audience becomes less relevant, reconsider how the Page is being promoted.

Where available, Premium analytics can also help identify followers gained through Premium growth features, including automatic invitations. Keep that acquisition source separate when assessing whether Premium is adding useful audience growth.

Your task

Compare your current follower composition with your three priority follower groups. Identify one audience you are reaching well, one that appears underrepresented and one content or distribution experiment that could improve the balance.
