Employees can extend the reach and credibility of a Company Page, but useful participation is broader than asking everybody to like and share every corporate post.
Start with relevance
An employee is more likely to contribute meaningfully when content relates to their work, expertise, customers or professional interests. Give people a reason to care before asking them to act.
Participation can take different forms
Employees might follow the Page, contribute ideas, provide subject-matter expertise, comment when they genuinely have something to add, share selected content with their own point of view or help the Page identify useful industry conversations.
Original employee contributions can be stronger than a reshare
When somebody has genuine expertise, their own post or comment may be more valuable than simply redistributing company copy. The Company Page and employee profiles can complement each other rather than duplicate each other.
Make useful content easy to discover
Internal communications can alert employees to particularly relevant Page content without turning every publication into a compulsory engagement request.
Keep the Page manager’s objective realistic
The aim is not to make every employee a distribution channel. It is to create useful points of connection between the organization’s Page, the expertise inside the business and employees who genuinely want to participate.
Your task
Identify three types of Company Page content that different employee groups would naturally care about. For each, choose one voluntary way employees could participate that adds something rather than merely increasing a reaction count.
