LinkedIn® Company Page Management - Audit Your Company Page Access and Governance

A LinkedIn® Company Page access audit answers a simple question: does everyone who can act on behalf of this organization still need the access they have?

This is a periodic control check, separate from the routine access changes you make as people take on or leave responsibilities.

Start with who has access

Review current Page administrators and, where relevant, Business Manager access. Do not assume a familiar name still represents a current requirement. People change roles, leave organizations and finish projects.

Check what each person can do

Compare assigned roles with actual responsibilities. Look particularly closely at super-admin access because it provides the broadest level of control.

Separate employees from external organizations

Identify contractors, agencies and other third parties. Confirm the commercial or operational reason each still needs access and whether the access route is appropriate.

Look for governance gaps

Check for excessive permissions, unexplained third-party access, missing ownership information and dependence on a single administrator. The audit should reveal weaknesses that routine access administration may not expose. If the audit reveals that nobody appropriate can administer the Page, follow the Guide for recovering a Company Page when nobody has access.

Create a repeatable review

Record the date of the audit, who reviewed it and any changes required. Repeat the review after significant staffing, agency or organizational changes, and at an interval appropriate to your organization.

Expert Tip

Put a recurring Page-access review in the diary. It is much easier to remove obsolete access routinely than discover years of accumulated administrators when somebody leaves or an agency relationship ends.

Your task

Create a simple access register containing the person or partner, their role, why access is required, who approved it and the date it was last reviewed. Use it as the evidence base for future access audits rather than rebuilding the picture from memory each time.
