Once your organization has added its LinkedIn® Company Page to Business Manager, access management should become a controlled operational process rather than a collection of one-off admin additions.
People must exist in Business Manager first
Before you assign somebody to a Page through Business Manager, they need to be invited to the Business Manager and accept that invitation. The Page also needs to have been added to the Business Manager.
You can then give the person access to the Page and assign the Page role appropriate to their work.
Business Manager does not automatically mean Page access
Being a Business Manager administrator does not by itself mean somebody can operate every LinkedIn Page within it. Business Manager permissions and individual Page permissions are separate layers.
That distinction is useful: somebody can help administer the organization’s Business Manager without automatically receiving operational control of every Page.
Deal with legacy direct access
After a Page is brought into Business Manager, you may find people who already have access to the Page but are not members of Business Manager. Employees who still need access can normally be brought into the organization’s Business Manager. People who no longer need access should be removed. If Business Manager prevents the access change you expect to make, use the Business Manager Page-access troubleshooting Guide.
External organizations require more thought. If they have their own Business Manager, partnership access is usually the cleaner structure.
Make access changes part of the job
When somebody’s responsibilities change, update their Page permissions at the same time. The purpose here is day-to-day access administration: making sure the people doing the work can do it without accumulating unnecessary permissions.
Your task
Review the people attached to your Page. Classify each as an internal employee, contractor or external organization. Confirm that each still needs access and that their assigned role matches their current responsibility.
